Before it was globalization. We started to see connections, monopolies and competitors everywhere. Then it was digital transformation. Without finishing understanding the second word and even less assuming the first, we glimpse the future risk of disintermediation or business threat digitágiles and capable of growing very fast without ballast.
Transformation was something that we all had to face to evolve. Every so often also, Shocking AI news and reports paint a clear roleless career future for many.
Some anticipate the voracity of software to 2030 Some anticipate the voracity of software to 2025 … more or less credible or close futures that do not seem to inspire urgency. Suddenly, in December 2019 a virus stops the world, U.S encloses at home to a majority and confronts us, in my opinion, to our greatest enemy, the fear.

Our professional future

When we think about a professional future, the COVID impact, the globalization, digitization or a layoff are nothing more than detonating the real ballast: our paralyzing fears of the past, of the present or about the future .

Professional reflections and decisions are not easy for almost anyone and less in troubled times. I have also not known (still) to anyone who with 15 years have already been very clear and hit with your ikigai , inner certainty about what you are passionate about, get it right, the world demands and will bring fulfillment to 100. Rather I have had and have more and more conversations with people who question and face beliefs and fears, who decide to explore the context with another look, to rediscover who they are to face their challenges.

Many people have trained their fear since childhood, fearing failing their parents and teachers. They are also afraid of not fitting in or living up to a professional opportunity or responsibility.. Fear prevents us sometimes and for years from being ourselves by dealing with fearful bosses and colleagues, leaving for later or never the exploration of our true essence, identity or purpose.

The power of thoughtful conversation

Most of the people I have interacted with have suffered from conversations, tools and good questions in time. They have (we have) been discovering the way making decisions (or not) and facing fears out of necessity, attraction to a challenge or both at the same time. We have not practiced conscious introspection enough, risk assessment and assumption, decision making that invites us to act and move beyond the more of the same. We are not trained, definitely, to dare to change

In this world of change and speed it is necessary to stop before they stop us and change before they change us. Click To Tweet
But it is necessary to stop and think before changing. Thinking to learn from us, if we have lived long enough and we treat ourselves to honesty. Think about what those who know and appreciate us tell us to tell us how they see us. Think about purpose and values, in possible and probable futures, in exchange and opportunity as much or more than in invoices, risks, past and its extensions.
We are all much more than a 20th century title or a certain professional role. We are sum of skills, learnings, experience, relations, vocation…
We are all latent and retained talent and motivation. Click To Tweet
Releasing the brake that holds us back requires facing up on time, often and to a greater or lesser extent to our fears

The future as a source of answers

The future will be a combination of human and technological talent. Machines will get better and better and humans should work on being it. In that future we all have more prominence and capacity for influence than many recognize us. In my opinion and many times, out of victimhood or fear.

Our interest in the future should always be active , dedicating time and energy frequently without the need for ERTES or pandemics that activate this process.
I am one of those who think that we always have time to decide who are and we want to be. Where and how we want to grow. Explore what values will guide our decisions in the next stage of our life. Decide what price we are willing to pay and what we will give up on the way. In sum, how we will manage the difficult balance between mind, heart and pocket
For this we have to think about what things we learned this week and what things we will do next (and no “someday”) to get a little closer to fullness.
Intentionally learning and consciously developing people will always have more opportunities. Click To Tweet

The future will always be uncertainty and it will be full of questions but I believe that in it and in its connection with our essence are the most relevant answers.
The more time we dedicate to the future, Some anticipate the voracity of software to. Some anticipate the voracity of software to. We need to train in conscience, change and learning. Changing jobs or professions frequently is perhaps not very compatible with paying a mortgage but not changing inside, progressive, intentionally and purposefully is probably not compatible with a future of fullness.

From the past (own and others) we can learn, the future is yet to be built and the present dawns every day to invite us to make decisions and act, each time with less fear. That, he also trains and as the wise man reflects Genís Roca, there are only two basic drives that move the world: fear and desire.

I invite you to put more focus on the second to help us beat the first
